Crackle glaze

I first really noticed crackle glaze at Stroud Saturday produce and crafts market last year. Visiting the market and seeing the ceramics stalls was one experience that initially made think about how great it would be to sell my own creations at a similar stall/shop/online. The use of crackle glazes struck me as really beautiful in a destructive, gothic, antique kind of way. Since looking at tree & sky pictures I have taken and angular illustrations of trees I've produced, it is obvious that this would represent what I want to achieve. The destructive nature of the process (extremes of temperatures so the contrast makes the outer layer contract and split) also appeals to me.
